SF Opens Applications for Grants to Music and Nightlife Venues As promised earlier this year, the first round of grants from SF s Music and Entertainment Venue Recovery Fund is about to beginning taking applications. The fund, spearheaded by Supervisor Matt Haney and given its initial $3 million in funding from the city s $24.8 million surprise surplus, will be administered by the city s Office of Small Business, in partnership with the Controller, the Office of Economic and Workforce Development and the Entertainment Commission. And music and nightlife venues can apply for grants of $10,000 or more with priority given to venues in imminent danger of closing, and those over 15 years old.
