Leopard that had attacked boy near Kadakola trapped

Nandan had counter-attacked the feline and pierced his thumb into its eyes Mysore/Mysuru: A leopard that had remained elusive for 22 days after attacking a 12-year-old Nandan at Beeregowdanahundi near Kadakola in Mysuru Taluk was finally trapped. Last midnight, the feline fell into a cage kept by the Forest Department near the farm house where the boy was attacked.  This morning, villagers and Nandan’s father Ravi heard loud growls from the cage and they alerted the Forest Department. It is a male leopard aged around seven to eight years. Nandan was attacked on the evening of Feb. 21 at his father’s farm house where he had been along his father to feed hay to the livestock. Daringly, Nandan pierced his finger to one of the eyes of the attacking leopard that bit his shoulder. 

ACB sleuths raid three Officers in Mysuru

Gold utensils, expensive watches found  Raiding teams stay in city lodges as tourists Mysuru/Bengaluru: In a massive pre-dawn swoop, Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths conducted raids at the residences and offices of nine Government officials across Karnataka including Mysuru, Bengaluru, Belagavi, Chikkaballapura and Yadgir.  As per initial reports, cash, jewellery, expensive watches and gold utensils have been found in the raids conducted in  Mysuru. However, ACB sources are tight-lipped about the exact value of the seizures and said the details of movable and immovable properties would be revealed later.  As many as 52 teams headed by jurisdictional Superintendents of Police (SPs) and Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) are carrying out raids at 28 places. Dry run of six empty Ambaaris on city roads

To ensure Tourism Minister’s inaugural ride in the evening passes off smoothly   Mysore/Mysuru: ‘ Ambaari,’ a specially-built open roof top double-decker bus operated by Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation (KSTDC), will be dedicated to the State by Tourism Minister C.P. Yogeeshwar at a programme in Mysuru at 5.45 pm today.  The Minister will flag off the bus service at Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel on the sidelines of ‘Connect-2021’ organised by Tourism Department and Karnataka Tourism Society. KSTDC Chairperson and actress Shruthi Krishna and other tourism stakeholders will be present.  Based on the model of London’s ‘Big Bus Tours’ of taking tourists around the city in open-roof buses, the ‘Ambaari’ is a ‘Hop-on and Hop-off’ initiative for tourists to experience the magnificent City of Palaces and other heritage and cultural structures.
