Kerry legend Colm Cooper says he was very surprised to learn of Dublin’s training breach last week and didn’t think the All-Ireland champions would get themselves into such a situation.
Last Thursday saw The Irish Independent break the news with photographs that showed nine Dublin players and a coach involved in training drills at Innisfails GAA in north Dublin the previous morning.
Since then, manager Dessie Farrell has been suspended by Dublin GAA for 12 weeks with further sanctions expected for the Sam Maguire Cup holders from Croke Park.

Death of former Tyrone All-Ireland winning coach

FERGAL McCann, who coached Tyrone to their All-Ireland Senior title successes in 2005 and 2008, has died after a battle with illness.
Mr McCann, who was 47 and a married father of two children, was a member of the Augher St Macartan’s club. He was also one of the county’s most renowned coaches.
After finishing his playing career, he went on to manage and coach a number of top clubs in the county, including Killyclogher and Carrickmore.
