Pennies For Paws Campaign Begins | News, Sports, Jobs

Submitted photo The Chautauqua County Humane Society’s annual Pennies 4 Paws campaign kicked off last week with a goal to collect 1,000,000 pennies to benefit the pets that rely on the shelter’s essential services. In 2020, over 1,000 animals were taken in at the humane society with many needing medical and behavioral care. Pennies 4 Paws support will help dogs like Wyatt and Garth find their adoptive families. Wyatt and Garth arrived at CCHS last March after they were rescued from a trailer in Panama along with 12 other dogs.

Donations have been made throughout its four-state footprint which includes New York, Pennsylvania, Vermont and Massachusetts. For more than 150 years, Community Bank, has been dedicated to supporting the communities it serves. From donating time volunteering in the community, holding toy, clothing and food drives, and annual pay-it-forward celebrations such as Good Neighbor Day and Random Acts of Kindness Day, the bank continues to give back to the community. In 2020, the bank donated more than $1.9 million and has remained committed to giving back throughout this year.

Jan 13, 2021 HARTFIELD Ken-neth Warren Beck, 71, of Hartfield, passed away at his home unexpectedly on Saturday, Jan. 9, 2021. He was born May 25, 1949, in New Kensington, Pa., the son of the late Wil-mer Beck and Margaret Ev-erheart. Ken attended Mayville and Sherman Central Schools. He retired from the auto industry as a car detailer for Hartley Buick in Jamestown, N.Y., where he worked for over 30 years. In earlier years he had worked as an auxiliary police officer with the Westfield Police Depart-ment and had previously been a member of the Hart-field Fire Department. He cherished every mo-ment spent with his family, and filled his home with love and laughter. Ken also loved to put the “Beck” fingerprint on every car or truck he owned, by adding extras and making them shine.

2021 CCHS Hot Dogs, Cool Cats Photo Contest Now Underway

[LISTEN] 2021 CCHS Hot Dogs, Cool Cats Photo Contest Now Underway JAMESTOWN – WRFA’s Jason Sample talks with Brian Papalia from the Hot Dogs, Cool Cats Pet Photo Contest on January 1. All animal lovers are encouraged to upload a photo and story of their favorite furry friend for online visitors to vote on. The contest, presented by Happy Hounds Hotel & Day Spa, with media support by the Media One Radio Group is running through January 30th at 9 p.m. There is a $10 donation to enter. The 10 photos with the most votes will artfully appear on CCHS Social Media and Chqhumane.org.  The winning pet will also receive a $100 Visa gift card, a $100 Crown and Paw gift card to have a special item made with their pets photo, and a pet photography session with Cathy Panebianco of Panebianco Photography. There are also prizes including Visa gift cards for second and third place.
