Written evidence can now be sent in to the Public Bill Committee which will be set up when the Bill is re-presented to the House in the new Session. The Committee is scheduled to report by Thursday 24 June.

Any motorists who accrue more than 12 points on their licence at a given time face a ban - and anyone over nine points is one simple three point speeding offence away from this. Within the 92,000, there are 4,000 drivers right on the edge of the threshold with 11 points at the moment. Road safety group IAM RoadSmart said the figures, released to them by the DVLA, are alarming and any error in judgement could land these motorists in hot water.

Pembroke man denies three drug-driving charges

A 54-YEAR-OLD Pembroke man is denying three charges of drug-driving. Sean Patrick Agnew of Vetch Close appeared at Haverfordwest Magistrates Court on Tuesday April 13 to plead not guilty to the charges. The alleged offences took place on October 30 at South Road, Pembroke, where police stated that Agnew drove a Nissan Quashqai when he had over the legal limit of cocaine, cannabis and Diazepam in his body. The case was adjourned until June 6th for trial at the same court, and Agnew was given unconditional bail to attend. Remanded on unconditional bail until 07/06/2021 at 11:30 in Courtroom 01, Haverfordwest Magistrates Court. Adjournment reason: for the trial. Defendant to attend.

The Hardship Fund (‘the Fund’) is a discretionary fund available to provide some relief from financial hardship for very low paid workers who are temporarily unable to work as a direct result of being a victim of a crime of violence and whose injuries do not fall within the tariff of injuries in the Criminal Injuries Compensation Scheme 2012. The Fund seeks to ease the financial hardship of those who have no recourse to other sources of financial assistance - for example those who do not receive Statutory Sick Pay (SSP). The payment is based on the current weekly rate of SSP. It will provide financial support, from the fourth to the 28th day of absence, provided the applicant has been unable to work for a period of seven consecutive days.
