Rochester man sentenced for shipping marijuana to Mason City
Takes plea deal over more than 800 grams of pot.

MASON CITY, Iowa – A Minnesota man charged with shipping hundreds of grams of marijuana to North Iowa has been sentenced.
Peter Anhnhat Ta, 24 of Rochester, MN, was given five years of supervised probation Monday in Cerro Gordo County District Court. He’s also been ordered to pay a $750 civil penalty and complete all recommended substance abuse treatment.
Ta pleaded guilty to possession of marijuana with intent to deliver. Law enforcement says he had two plastic baggies of marijuana mailed to a Mason City location on December 20, 2019. Investigators said the baggies contained a total of 895.2 grams of marijuana.

Accused Mason City car wash burglar pleads not guilty
Trial set for May.

MASON CITY, Iowa – A North Iowa man accused of breaking into a car wash is pleading not guilty.
Jackie Lee Reich III, 33 of Mason City, is charged with third-degree burglary. Law enforcement says he entered locked areas of Laser Wash on 1st Street NW in Mason City on November 13, 2020, and caused more than $1,000 in property damage.
Reich’s trial is scheduled to begin on May 4 in Cerro Gordo County District court.
