But billions of dollars from the federal government should give schools the opportunity to work at mitigating learning loss.
Oklahoma’s State Department of Education announced Monday the start of a new multiyear initiative to best leverage those monies called Ready Together Oklahoma.

A man was critically wounded after being shot while driving in the Southcrest neighborhood Saturday morning, San Diego police said.
The victim, 62, was driving a silver Acura west on Alpha Street near 38th Street about 5:10 a.m. when he was shot multiple times, police said. The car then crashed into a basketball court next to Cesar Chavez Elementary School.
The victim was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Police had no information about the shooter.
