It hits me every time I step off the plane: the sudden chill of full-blast air con and the distinct scent of orchid-tea fragrance diffuser. Airports can feel nondescript, but arriving at Changi – both today and long before the Covid-19 pandemic – is a uniquely Singaporean experience. On the way to passport control, walking through the perfumed air, you ll see immaculately kempt green walls and tidy water features, teams of janitorial staff (in both human and robot form) and high-tech washrooms with interactive feedback screens.
If you leave the airport expecting the rest of the city to be this orderly and clean, you won t be disappointed. Once described by the New York Times as a place so clean that bubble gum is a controlled substance , Singapore is universally known for its perfectly paved roads, manicured public parks, and spotless, litter-free streets.
SINGAPORE - The space formerly occupied by Robinsons on the third level of Raffles City Shopping Centre has now been taken over by online retailer Lazada.
Over the next two weeks, Lazada will be showcasing home furnishings and smart home products at its 10,000 sq ft pop-up store.
It is the latest online retailer to go physical, albeit for a short period of time. This is a move experts say can attract more shoppers to malls and offer more choices to consumers.
Ms Esther Ho, director of Nanyang Polytechnic s School of Business Management, said that shopping malls were badly hit last year, with a few well-known anchor tenants or multi-chain stores - such as Robinsons and Topshop - closing down or moving out.
KFC Golden Durian Mochi
The KFC Golden Durian Mochi will be launched on Apr. 7 for a limited time. (No, this is not a belated April Fool s joke.)
According to KFC, the fried chewy mochi is filled with molten durian lava of premium D24. Image from KFC. Image from KFC.
It will also be available at all KFC outlets, except at Singapore Zoo.
KFC Tango Spice
It will be available from Apr. 5 for a limited time.
According to KFC, the chicken is marinated in spicy chimichurri. Chimichurri is a sauce that originated in Argentina.
It is a blend of freshly chopped greens mixed with chilli, onions and garlic.
