The Sindh government issued on Saturday the Benazir Mazdoor Card for labourers across the province.
It will help provide all necessary benefits and facilities
such as education, health, marriage grants, financial assistance, scholarships
and pensions to labourers.
The Sindh Labour Department launched the Benazir Mazdoor
Card at a ceremony at the CM House in Karachi.
In his address, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said the
Karachi: This month, the Sindh Government is going to issue the Benazir Mazdoor Cards (BMC) to labourers in the province as a new automated mechanism for the registration of the industrial workers to provide them with facilities and privileges including healthcare services.
Sindh Government’s Labour Department has availed the services of National Database and Registration Authority to issue the BMCs initially to 625,000 labourers registered with the Sindh Employees’ Social Security Institution.
Sindh Labour and Education Minister Saeed Ghani said the BMC would provide a computerised mechanism to register the labourers in the province to replace the existing manual system for the purpose.

The Sindh government has announced Benazir Bhutto Mazdoor cards for labourers in the province.
The government will distribute 650,000 health cards to industrial labourers in the first phase of the programme. According to officials, in the next phase, the programme s reach will be extended to five million labourers.
With these cards comes the promise of free (and in some cases subsidised) healthcare. Card holders can take them to any hospital in Sindh and avail subsidised treatment.
