Ghani challenges NAB to arrest him

ISLAMABAD: Sindh Education Minister Saeed Ghani challenged the NAB officials to arrest him and said that he would go to the NAB office on Monday with two pairs of clothes.
“If the NAB arrests him, he will not apply for bail and will go to the NAB office with two or three pair of clothes,” he said while addressing a press conference here on Saturday at Sindh House along with PPP media coordinator Nazir Dhoki.
Saeed Ghani asked what kind of magic Haleem Adil Sheikh has that NAB gets annoyed when he will mention his name. “Why NAB does not act against the people involved in the biggest wheat scandal, sugar scandal and medicine scandals in the country,” he asked.
KBT demands inclusion of affected families in commission

Leaders of the Karachi Bachao Tehreek (KBT) on Friday demanded that the Sindh government include people affected by the anti-encroachment operations of the Gujjar and Orangi nullahs, Haji Lemu Goth, Sahafi Colony, Aladin Park and Karachi Circular Railway in the commission to resolve the issue of unauthorised constructions in the city.
They also demanded that each affected family be provided compensation according to their land and construction, not just 80-square-yard plots. KBT leader Khurram Ali and others addressed a press conference at the Karachi Press Club in response to the Sindh government’s announcement of forming a commission for allotting alternative plots to the affected people.

NAB rejects Ghani’s allegations, decides to send legal notice

ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau categorically rejected the allegations of Sindh Education Minister Saeed Ghani on Friday and clarified that the probe was under process against Saeed Ghani by the NAB Karachi after due process of law. “The NAB has already clarified that NAB Karachi Bureau was conducting an inquiry against Haleem Adil Sheikh after authorizing complaint verification,” the NAB press statement stated. Earlier, NAB had already condemned Saeed Ghani’s attempts for influencing the corruption cases under trial against Syed Khursheed Shah and Ejaz Jakhrani in the accountability court of Sukkur. The NAB had also condemned Saeed Ghani’s attempt to benefit the accused persons and decided to review the statement of Saeed Ghani in the light of Clause 31 (a) of NAB Ordinance.
