HYDERABAD: Leader of Opposition in Sindh Assembly Firdous Shamim Naqvi has warned the business community of Hyderabad that if they fail to raise their voice against corruption, their problems would not be resolved. Speaking at the Hyderabad Chamber of Small Traders and Small Industry the other day, he said Hyderabad city was faced with serious civic issues which would be highlighted at all forums. All roads were broken and the sewerage system remained in pretty bad shape, he added. He said Hyderabad’s SITE was also facing infrastructure development issues and industrialists were shifting from the city. He said the business community would have to take action for activating Hyderabad airport and urged them to exercise their right of franchise carefully in future. Honest people should be elected because only an honest leadership would be able to serve the masses.

AP/File KARACHI: The ruling Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf on Monday raised its serious objections over the results of the population census in Karachi, sharing concerns of different political parties in the province, including its ally Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P), but asked political stakeholders of Sindh to accept the National Census 2017 and put in every possible effort for a fresh headcount at the earliest. The suggestion came from the top leadership of the party as Leader of the Opposition in the Sindh Assembly Firdous Shamim Naqvi said parties were trying to make the census controversial which could not be reversed but it could only be fixed with a new census across the country. He justified the PTI government move to approve the census saying the party had no option amidst other serious challenges being faced by the country.
