Several areas in Perak, Terengganu to be placed under EMCO beginning Sunday

KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 12): Several localities in Batu Gajah, Perak and Besut, Terengganu will be placed under the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) for 14 days starting Sunday (Feb 14), following a surge in Covid-19 cases in the areas. Senior Minister (Security) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the areas involved are the Moral Rehabilitation Centre (PPA) and staff quarters in Batu Gajah, Perak, as well as Kg Darau-Awek, Kg Padang Baloh and Kg Lepan Kejor, Pasir Akar sub-district, in Besut, Terengganu.

Ismail Sabri: MCO in Song, Kapit districts in Sarawak from Feb 2

KUALA LUMPUR: The government will implement the Movement Control Order (MCO) in two localities in Sarawak for 14 days starting on Tuesday (Feb 2), said Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob ( pix). He said that the localities were in the Song and Kapit districts, as both districts showed sharp increases in Covid-19 cases in the last 14 days, with high infection rates. “The Ministry of Health (MOH) confirmed that there has been an increase in Covid-19 positive cases in the Song district, which was previously a green zone, with 93 cases recorded. “While in Kapit district, from zero, there are now 31 positive cases. The standard operating procedure (SOP) of the MCO is the same as previously announced,” he said in a statement on the development of the MCO, here, today.
