Technip Energies And Chiyoda Awarded A Major LNG Contract For The North Field East Project In Qatar

(1) Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning (“EPCC”) contract by Qatar Petroleum for the onshore facilities of the North Field East Project (“NFE”).
This award will cover the delivery of 4 mega trains, each with a capacity of 8 million tons per annum (“Mtpa”) of Liquefied Natural Gas (“LNG”), and associated utility facilities. It will include a large CO2 Carbon Capture and Sequestration facility, leading to more than 25% reduction of Green House Gas emissions when compared to similar LNG facilities.

Qatargas has signed a Letter of Award with ChiyodaTechnip Joint Venture for the construction of four new LNG mega-trains for the North Field East Project (NFE), the world s largest LNG project, which will raise Qatar s LNG production capacity from 77 million tons per annum (MTPA) to 110 MTPA.
In addition to LNG, the project will produce condensate, LPG, ethane, sulfur and helium. It is expected to start production in the fourth quarter of 2025 and its total production will reach about 1.4 million barrels oil equivalent per day.
Qatar Takes FID on NFE Project
Qatar Petroleum has taken the final investment decision for developing the North Field East project (NFE), the world’s largest LNG project, which will raise Qatar’s LNG production capacity from 77mn metric tons/year to 110mn mt/yr, it said on February 8.
The project is expected to start production in the fourth quarter of 2025. Qatar Petroleum has awarded the key onshore engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract to a joint venture between Chiyoda Corp and Technip Energies. QP said it was close to agreeing the front-end engineering and design of the onshore facilities to Chiyoda in April 2019.
