Photo : YONHAP News The Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials(CIO) has launched an investigation into the alleged leak of classified information about the indictment of the head of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office.
On Monday, the CIO summoned Kim Han-me, the head of a civic group who filed a relevant complaint accusing an incumbent prosecutor of deliberately leaking news of the indictment to a specific media outlet.
The CIO has reportedly questioned Kim about the circumstances that led to the complaint to determine whether the accusation meets the parameters of the crime of leaking classified information.
In the early stages of its investigation, the CIO is expected to focus on specifying the person who allegedly leaked the indictment.

Lee Sung-yoon, head of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors Office, who will stand trial for allegedly abusing his power, has left an indelible blot on the law enforcement agency. Seoul [South Korea], May 11 (ANI/Global Economic): The prosecution has filed an arrest warrant against former chairman of Kumho Asiana GroupPark Sam-gu, who is accused of unfair support for affiliates.
According to the prosecution on Monday, the Seoul Central District Prosecutor s Office Fair Trade Investigation Department (Chief Prosecutor Kim Min-hyung) requested a preliminary arrest warrant against former Chairman Park on charges of violating the Monopoly Regulation and Fair Trade Act.
Former Chairman Park is under suspicion of mobilizing affiliates to support Kumho Express, which has a high share of in-family ownership.

A coalition of financial consumer groups filed a complaint with the prosecution against Kakao Corp., claiming that the operator of the nation s popular online platform Kakao Talk is willfully overlooking many instances of financial fraud, involving users of the messenger service.
The four groups say Kakao has yet to take any action, despite a number of complaints filed by many consumers that have fallen victim to ads run by people using accounts stolen from financial experts ― notably market analysts at brokerage firms and fund managers.
