Syracuse, N.Y. – Onondaga County will send 1,500 doses of Covid-19 vaccine to Syracuse University Wednesday, the start of an initiative to focus vaccinations on students as the minimum age of eligibility falls to 16 Tuesday.
The county also plans to start vaccinating high school students as soon as this week, County Executive Ryan McMahon said today.
County officials are working with SU and other local colleges to get students vaccinated, either on campus or at the county’s downtown vaccine site at the Oncenter. The county also is talking with local school districts about offering vaccines to high school students, McMahon said.
