May 12, 2021 DUMAGUETE CITY – Negros Oriental has reported 68 new recoveries from coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) amid a continuous climb in the number of new cases that have brought hospitals here to almost full capacity.
Assistant Provincial Health Officer Dr. Liland Estacion, in a virtual press briefing late Monday afternoon, said the latest recoveries covered the period from May 6-7 and brought the total number to 2,291 since last year.
The new recoveries are from Sibulan with 23; Dauin, 14; La Libertad; nine; Dumaguete City, eight; Sta. Catalina, four; Bayawan City, three; Canlaon City, two; Amlan, Tayasan, Bacong, Jimalalud, and Siaton, one each.
Estacion, who is also the health committee chair of the province’s Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID), likewise said that for May 6 and 7, the province recorded 99 new infections.
