Work on Daraban SEZ along with CPEC Western route accelerated

ISLAMABAD: In order to uplift backward and underprivileged southern parts of the province, the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has expedited the completion of legal formalities to begin work on Daraban Economic Zone (DEZ) in Dera Ismail Khan.
According to Gwadar Pro, DEZ is located right on China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC)’s western alignment linking KP and Balochistan province. The 3,125-acre DEZ would be one of the largest economic zones of the country.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Economic Zones Development and Management Company (KPEZDMC) will develop and manage the economic zone.

The Sichuan Liaison Office of the China-Pakistan Business Council was launched Saturday to accelerate the integration of Sichuan into the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and promote bilateral economic and trade cooperation.
According to a statement, the event was part of a series of celebrations marking the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Pakistan. A Pakistan agricultural cooperation promotion meeting and the opening ceremony of the Sichuan liaison office of China-Pakistan business council was held in Chengdu, it said.
