Thirteen residents of HSE-run home in north Dublin have died following Covid-19 outbreak

Thirteen residents of a HSE-run nursing home in north Dublin have died following a Covid-19 outbreak, it emerged yesterday. The deaths took place at Lusk Community Nursing Unit and come as long-term care units and other residential centres are seeing levels of infection similar to March and April of last year. Community Healthcare Organisation Dublin North City and County confirmed that during the current Covid-19 outbreak within Lusk Community Nursing Unit, there have sadly been 13 deaths of residents, 11 of which are confirmed Covid-19 positive. A spokeswoman said: “Our sympathies are with their families and friends at this time.” She said that a significant number of both patients and staff within Lusk Community nursing home remain affected by Covid-19 and every measure is in place to support them at this time.
