Clearwater police left a man ‘sleeping.’ Hours later, he was dead. Officers were supposed to check on Adam Phillips. Now his daughter is suing the Clearwater Police Department, saying they didn’t do their jobs right.     Adam Phillips holds his granddaughter in this September 2019 photo. Phillips was excited about becoming a grandfather, his daughter s attorney said. But now Alexis Phillips is suing the Clearwater Police Department, saying the officers who went to check on her father on Feb. 27, 2020 failed to do their jobs right.
