Freeborn Co. Fair to go on this summer without restrictions

ALBERT LEA, Minn. - Things will be back to normal this summer in Freeborn County.
The Freeborn County Fair announced Monday that this year s fair will proceed without limitations from Aug. 3-8. On May 6, 2021, Governor Walz reduced several COVID restrictions including ending the masking requirements no later than July 1, 2021. County staff immediately began conversations with the Fair Board and are very pleased to announce that the 2021 Freeborn County fair will proceed as previously planned!!! the fair said in a press release.

(ABC 6 News) - After announcing the fair would be not be happening about two weeks ago, Gov. Walz s recent announcement of loosening restrictions has allowed the Freeborn County Fair to return in 2021.
The Freeborn County Agricultural Society announced the dates of the fair for August 3 through 8. The Fair will be held without limitations.
Entertainment originally scheduled for the 2020 fair will all perform this year. Those acts can be found on the Freeborn County Fair website. We look forward to seeing you all IN PERSON at the 2021 Freeborn County Fair.

The Freeborn County Fair is back on for 2021!
According to KIMT.com and several other news sources, the Freeborn County Fair shared in a press release the news that their fair is back on the schedule for August 3rd -8th in Albert Lea, Minnesota and without limitations.
So far, I don t see any information posted by them on their Facebook page or their website. I did reach out to the Freeborn County Fair to get a copy of the press release and to confirm but haven t heard back from them yet.
Wasn t the Freeborn County Fair Canceled Already?
You aren t dreaming things. The Freeborn County Fair was in fact already canceled for 2021. On April 30th, my co-worker, Luke Lonien, reported that the announcement was made that the county fair would be canceled. The story claimed that a variety of factors were part of this decision including the limitations of people in indoor and outdoor entertainment events and the cost to provide entertainment.
