Fayetteville high schooler: The best year of our lives
Emmaline Morgan
2020 will be remembered as the year of loss. It stole from many their family members, their plans, their financial security, and for some, even their hope. Hayden Grosvenor knows all about being patient.
The 17-year-old Rustburg native and Liberty Christian Academy junior has spent most of his life patiently waiting for a liver transplant. This month, a wait that lasted more than 10 years finally came to an end for Grosvenor and his family when they received a call Dec. 11 that a liver had become available.
The Grosvenors were relaxing at home when the phone rang at about 8:30 p.m. It was the Cincinnati Childrenâs Hospital telling them to pack their bags and get ready for their flight.
âI just couldnât believe it was finally happening,â said Laura Grosvenor, Haydenâs mom, remembering that night.
