CUYAHOGA COUNTY, Ohio (WOIO) - Early Friday morning, 19 News started receiving calls and emails from people in the community who had signed up to get their COVID-19 vaccine.
A link started going around from the Cuyahoga County Board of Health allowing anyone who clicked it to sign up for a slot to get a COVID-19 vaccine.
74-year-old Ruth Elliot was thrilled when she received the link to sign up for a COVID-19 vaccine next week.

CLEVELAND â As we now know, racial and ethnic minority groups have been disproportionately affected by the coronavirus pandemic. That was one strike against Victor Young of Cleveland. But he also underwent massive open-heart surgery just a few months before getting COVID-19, and he is a cancer survivor. The risk markers were stacked against him.
Still, he survived, and he did so at a time when the odds were the toughest.
Young was among the first Clevelanders to be hospitalized with COVID-19 at the beginning of the outbreak. He was put on a ventilator to help him breathe. COVID-19 nearly killed the 64-year-old.

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - The commissioner of the Cuyahoga County Board of Health delivered remarks regarding a website that was inadvertently sent out to a large number of residents promoting a COVID-19 vaccine distribution event at the fairgrounds in Berea.
Commissioner Terry Allan said thousands of people who registered online through a Cuyahoga County-affiliated website will be issued cancellation notices if they do not meet eligibility requirements for receiving the vaccine.

PARMA, Ohio (WOIO) - The Cuyahoga County Board of Health has received a shipment of about 4,000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine; EMS workers will be among the first to receive the shots.
âThis is a very emotional day for many of us, and a very momentous day,â said Medical Director Dr. Heidi Gullett.
Gullett and two other staffers at the Board of Health were vaccinated Wednesday at their headquarters in Parma.
