Foreign countries should refund stolen funds with interest ― ICPC Chairman On ICPC Chairman, Prof. Bolaji Owasanoye By Soni Daniel – Abuja The Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), Prof. Bolaji Owasanoye, has canvassed the payment of interests on stolen funds by benefiting foreign nations as part of measures to redress the menace of illicit financial flows (IFFs). The ICPC chairman, who stated this in Abuja, said that the Federal Government of Nigeria was currently reviewing legacy transactions in oil and gas, tax investments, and the use of waivers in Nigeria in order to curb IFFs.

x Afegbua was the spokesman of former military President, Ibrahim Babangida, who served as commissioner of information in Adams Oshiomhole’s administration in the State. He was expelled for alleged anti-party activities in his ward before and during the Edo State governorship election held on September 19, 2020. Afegbua’s expulsion from PDP was contained in a letter by the Edo State chairman of PDP, Dr Tony Aziegbemi, which was addressed to the PDP national chairman, Prince Uche Secondus. The letter dated May 17, 2021 and entitled “Re: Resolution of the expulsion of Kassim Afegbua as a member of PDP”, said Afegbua failed to appear before disciplinary committees set up by the chapter of the PDP at his ward, local government area and the state levels.
