A map of Nigeria An advocacy group, BudgIT, says it will soon launch research report that reviewed the Nigeria’s current fiscal support and institutional response to COVID-19 pandemic. Its Senior Programme Officer, Mr Iyanuoluwa Bolarinwa, made the call in a statement made available to newsmen on Wednesday in Akwa. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that BudgIT is a civic organisation that applies technology to intersect citizen’s engagement with institutional improvement to facilitate societal change. It is also a leading advocacy for transparency and accountability in Nigeria, with a primary aim of raising standard of transparency and accountability in government.

  The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) will jointly work with the Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI) to tackle corruption in the extractive industry. The Chairman of ICPC, Prof. Bolaji Owasanoye, (SAN) gave this indication during a visit to the corporate headquarters of the Commission by the top management of NEITI led by its Executive Secretary, Dr. Orji Ogbonnaya Orji. Owasanoye stated that ensuring transparency and accountability of the extractive industries has become necessary due to its importance as the largest revenue earner for the nation.
