Two adults, two children hurt after home goes up in flames in Currituck County Firefighters said a home that used to be an old country store burned down early Friday morning in Grandy. Author: 13News Now Staff Updated: 11:18 PM EST March 5, 2021 GRANDY, N.C. A family is in the hospital following an early-morning fire in Grandy, fire officials said. According to Chief Vernon Hart with Lower Currituck Volunteer Fire Department, firefighters were called to the 6400 block of Carotoke Highway just after midnight Friday.  They arrived to find the building fully engulfed in flames. Four people two adults and two young children were all able to get out before crews arrived, but they all were taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital to be treated for burn injuries.  There s no word on how serious those injuries are.

Norfolk detectives arrest, charge man hurt in fatal triple shooting Norfolk Police Department and last updated 2021-03-02 21:14:50-05 On February 27 around 12:35 p.m., police were responded to the 500 block of Timothy Avenue for the report of a gunshot victim. When officers got to the scene, they found 19-year-old Troquan S. Martin of Norfolk suffering from a gunshot wound. Martin was pronounced dead at the scene. Officers later learned that two more victims, an unidentified 22-year-old man and James C. Wilson, 23, had also been shot. They both received treatment at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital and are expected to be okay.

Bellamy was found suffering from gunshot wounds in the area. Bellamy was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. As a result of the investigation, police have charged Dequan T. Copeland, 28, with second-degree murder and use of a firearm. On March 2, the U.S. Marshals Service helped arrest him in Maricopa County, Arizona. Detectives have not released the motive or circumstances surrounding this homicide. Copeland is currently being held in Arizona and is awaiting extradition back to Norfolk.

Norfolk Police say that shortly after 12:30 p.m. on February 27, officers were called to the 500 block of Timothy Avenue for reports of a shooting.  Officers arrived to find 19-year-old Troquan S. Martin suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators soon learned two other victims, a 22-year-old man and 23-year-old James C. Wilson, had been shot.  Both were taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital and are expected to be OK.
