According to the preliminary investigation, the man was crossing the street when he was hit by a silver or grey sport utility vehicle. The vehicle drove away before police arrived. The man, who police later identified as Bobby L. Olsen, was taken to the Sentara Norfolk General Hospital where he died from his injuries.
