A second round of stimulus check payments began arriving as early as Tuesday night for some New Yorkers and will continue into next week, the Treasury Department and the Internal Revenue Service announced.
Paper checks will begin to be mailed on Wednesday.
Most people who make under a certain amount will receive a one-time, non-taxable payment of $600. Full payments will go to people who meet the following thresholds for adjusted gross income based on 2019 tax returns: $75,000 for single filers, $112,500 for heads of household, and $150,000 for those married filing jointly. After those thresholds, the payments decrease, and won t be available for single-filers who earned more than $99,000. Adults also get $600 for each child they claim as a dependent.

Sustained USD selling bias pushed EUR/USD to fresh 32-month tops on Wednesday.
The momentum ran out of the steam near the 1.2300 mark amid thin trading volumes.
The technical set-up favours bullish traders and supports prospects for additional gains.
The EUR/USD pair shot to fresh 32-month tops during the first half of the trading action on Wednesday, albeit the momentum lost steam just ahead of the 1.2300 mark. The prevalent upbeat market mood continued weighing on the US dollar s safe-haven status and was seen as one of the key factors behind the early move up. Investors quickly looked past a Senate delay in US stimulus checks and remained optimistic about the likelihood of additional financial aid. It is worth reporting that Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell on Tuesday blocked an effort to hold an immediate vote to raise the COVID-19 relief payments from $600 to $2,000.

Washington Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell on Tuesday blocked an attempt to vote on the $2,000 stimulus checks approved by the House, but resurrected the higher payments in a new bill that includes other items on President Trump s wish list: The creation of a commission to study election fraud and the repeal of Section 230, which shields social media companies from lawsuits.
The House passed the bill introduced last week and brought it to the floor for a vote in response to the last-minute request from Mr. Trump to increase the payments to $2,000. A number of Republicans joined with their Democratic counterparts in support of the measure.
