AN OPPONENT of a controversial homes plan has voiced his fears that it could be second time lucky for a developer after they appealed against planning refusal. Campaigners to save Deer Park, Belah, from the bulldozer have been left distraught after discovering that South Yorkshire based builder, Gleeson Homes, has submitted a revised application to build 79 houses, instead of the original 80. The application was refused in December and the revised application was submitted on Tuesday.
Carlisle City Council s deputy leader Councillor Gareth Ellis has said the only reason for refusal of the homes on what is technically a brown field site was the problem of school places.
