Trying to drive onto Montreal Road from Albert Street, look left fine look right a wall of panel vans such that you can’t see oncoming traffic down the street at all. It was asking for an accident and local police should have seen this issue and had them (film crew) hire a security company to direct traffic anywhere visibility was infringed upon.

Seven charged in anti-lockdown protest

(Newswatch Group/Bill Kingston, File) CORNWALL – Less than a week after an anti-lockdown protest, seven people have been slapped with tickets in relation to the Cornwall demonstration. The Cornwall Police Service announced this afternoon (Friday) that “seven organizers” have been charged under the Reopening Ontario Act after the Saturday, May 1 spectacle. The two charges are failing to comply with certain sections of the Reopening Ontario Act and hosting or organizing a public event where the number of people in attendance is more than the number allowed. As part of its policy, city police don’t release the names of people charged with provincial offences.

Cornwall police chief retiring

Danny Aikman made the announcement Thursday morning during the virtual police board meeting that he will be hanging up his hat at the end of this year. “After 41 years of police service, I feel now is the right time to move on with the next chapter of my life,” Aikman said. “I know a lot of people when they retire talk about spending more time with their wives and their children and whatnot. This pandemic has given me a lot of time with my wife recently, we’ll see how that works out, love her to death. I have actually been married 41 years to Connie as well so I don’t see that ending anytime soon,” Aikman chuckled.

CORNWALL – The Cornwall Police Service is in the final process of getting ready to charge some participants in the most recent anti-lockdown protest in Cornwall. Around 150 people participated in the demonstration on Saturday, May 1 outside the health unit office on Pitt Street.
