The governments of Bangladesh, Myanmar and China will hold a tripartite meeting on Tuesday to discuss immediate start of Rohingya repatriation which has not been possible in over three years since the influx of the forcibly displaced Myanmar national in 2017.
The Foreign Secretary-level virtual meeting will begin at 2pm when Dhaka will seek expeditious repatriation of over 1.1 million Rohingyas, who were forced to take shelter in Bangladesh following brutal military crackdown in Rakhine state on August 25, 2017.
Dhaka wants to start of the repatriation before the monsoon and rainy season and asked the international community to mount pressure on Myanmar to take back its nationals without any delay.
