Deschutes County Health Services is partnering with Oregon Health Authority to offer a free drive-thru COVID-19 testing event from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 13, at the Deschutes County Fair & Expo Center. This testing event is open to anyone. No symptoms or ID are required to be tested. Participants are asked to wear a mask and register online at https://www.doineedacovid19test.com/Redmond OR 4369.html. Staff will be onsite to register those who are unable to preregister. Individuals will receive a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test and test results will be available in two to three days. "We are grateful to be able to provide an opportunity for our community to easily access free COVID-19 testing," said Deschutes County Public Health Director Nahad Sadr-Azodi. "This event will also allow our teams to prepare for future vaccine clinics at the Deschutes County Fair & Expo Center."

They, too, hunkered down in terror, and some even found themselves targets of people who, for the past four years, have ascribed to the belief that we are enemies of the people out to spread fake news. If you re reading this, I hope you re among the many who have paused this week to consider the importance of real, trusted and verified information, because the information that spurred the Capitol riots was anything but that. When journalists become part of the story, something has often gone terribly wrong.

Deschutes County first responders wrap up COVID-19 vaccinations

Nearly 400 vaccinated during six-hour clinic
BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) Bend Police Capt. Nick Parker received his COVID-19 vaccination Tuesday, then went right back to work.
“I want to stay healthy, and I definitely want to continue my job, he said. And if we can have a healthy workforce to serve the community, that s obviously the goal.”
Parker and other Deschutes county first responders received their first doses of the Pfizer vaccine Tuesday.
The six-hour clinic was held at Deschutes County Health Services and nearly 385 people were vaccinated, many of them first responders.
