Our client, a leading global manufacturing company are seeking to employ 3 x SQL developers, on a 24 month fixed term contract, to develop MS-SQL queries and procedures, create custom reports, and modify ERP user forms to enhance organizational productivity.
Please note these roles are based in Cape Town and Cape Town Residents will be given preference
KEY EXPERIENCE TO MEET
Development of high quality database solutions
Develop, implement and optimize stored procedures and functions
Review and interpret ongoing business report requirements
Research required data
Analyze existing SQL queries for performance improvements
Suggest new queries
Provide timely scheduled management reporting
Investigate exceptions with regard to asset movements
Participate in design, peer and code reviews
Daily technical, functional and operation support for existing Business Intelligence solutions.
Grow skills and usage of Hadoop and Spark.
Contribute to the ideology and growth of moving the architecture to modern platforms, on-premise and/or cloud.
Mentorship of mid-level and junior developers. QUALIFICATIONS
BSc or B Com in Information Systems or IT/IS diploma (Highly Advantageous) or substantial experience in a Data Warehousing or Business Intelligence environment. EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE
Architectural mind-set
Previous experience in retail systems an advantage.
Batch processing and scheduling experience
Building and maintaining relationships with Business users
Documenting technical requirement from business briefs

Qualifications and Experience Required: Matric and Relevant IT qualification
5+ Years of BI Development experience
SQL Server 2008/2012 experience
SQL Server Reporting Services or similar experience
SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) Tabular experience
Data Analysis Expressions (DAX) experience or Power BI
Strong MS Excel skills and especially experience with Power Pivot
A solid understanding of how applications and underlying databases work/integrate
