Russia registers 22,589 new Covid-19 cases, 790 deaths in past 24 hours - HQ
MOSCOW. Aug 4 (Interfax) - Russia has registered 22,589 new cases of Covid-19 and 790 related deaths in the past 24 hours, the coronavirus response headquarters said in a statement on Wednesday. Over the past day, 22,589 Covid-19 cases were confirmed in 85 regions of Russia, including 2,048 asymptomatic cases identified proactively (9.1%), the headquarters said.
Over the past day, 790 patients died from Covid-19, the majority of them in Moscow (76), St. Petersburg (54) and the Krasnodar Territory (32). Meanwhile, 20,096 patients have been discharged from hospitals upon recovery.
According to the headquarters, Moscow reported 2,502 new cases of Covid-19 and 4,302 recoveries on Wednesday.
