ISLAMABAD:
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has recovered Rs23.85 billion in the fake bank accounts scam, the anti-graft body claimed in a statement issued on Friday.
NAB Chairman Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal, chaired a meeting at its headquarters to review the performance of the anti-graft body s Rawalpindi wing.
NAB Deputy Chairman Hussain Asghar, Prosecutor General Accountability Syed Asghar Haider, Operations DG Zahir Shah, NAB Rawalpindi DG Irfan Naeem Mangi, and other senior officers were present in the meeting.
Mangi informed the participants of the meeting that NAB Rawalpindi had filed 14 references in the fake bank accounts scam which were under adjudication before the accountability courts in Islamabad.

ISLAMABAD: The national anti-graft watchdog on Wednesday decided to initiate another corruption inquiry against jailed Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif.
However, an inquiry against former finance minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader Ishaq Dar was closed owing to lack of incriminating evidence against him.
The decision to initiate an inquiry against Mr Sharif was taken by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) at a meeting of its executive board that was presided over by its chairman retired Justice Javed Iqbal.

ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Lahore Thursday presented the details of the conviction in corruption cases during the last three years (2018 to 2020) to the NAB Chairman Justice (R) Javed Iqbal and informed that around 190 convictions from the accountability courts were made during the last three years in different section of the NAB Ordinance 1999.
Justice (R) Javed Iqbal chaired a meeting here Wednesday to review the performance of NAB-Lahore, especially convictions made under Section 10 of National Accountability Ordinance (NAO)-1999 and under Section 25 (b) of NAO-1999 during the year 2018 to 2020 at NAB Headquarters.
