Dubai: As a college boy, Indian expat Mundarath Muralikrishnan Nair, known as MMK Nair, was fascinated by aeroplanes as they whizzed past like a speck in the sky.
As he wished with all his heart, he ended up working in an airport and later running a flying institute, thus becoming part of five glorious decades of aviation in the UAE. Serving in the finance department of Dubai Airport from its inception, Nair had a remarkable growth in his career till he retired as the Director of Finance after 40 years from April 1970. After his retirement, he has continued to be in the aviation sector in the UAE as managing director and shareholder of Emirates Aviation Services, the premier flying school in Dubai established in 1989.

DUBAI: Passenger flights from Pakistan to Dubai will remain suspended till July 21, Dubai-based airline Emirates said on its website on Monday.
The suspension of inbound passenger flights from India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka to the UAE has also been extended till July 21.
Abu Dhabi based airline Etihad Airways has already extended its suspension of flights from the South Asian countries till July 21.
Furthermore, passengers who have connected through Pakistan, Bangladesh, India or Sri Lanka in the last 14 days will not be accepted to travel from any other point to the UAE.

Abu Dhabi [UAE], July 11 (ANI): United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Saturday announced the suspension of entry for travellers and transit passengers from Indonesia and Afghanistan on national and foreign flights with effect from July 11.
The announcement was made by the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) and the National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Emergency Management Authority (NCEMA) in the UAE, reported Khaleej Times.
The suspension will include the suspension of the entry of travellers who were in these countries 14 days before coming to the UAE.
Transit and cargo flights to and from these countries will continue, as usual, the GCAA said in a statement.
