Our entire medical staff-corona warriors, frontline workers, youth, people associated with essential and emergency services, volunteers, urban local bodies, Panchayati Raj Institutions have a huge responsibility in the fight against Covid-19 pandemic. It has been decided that COVID-19 vaccination for people in the age group 18-45 years will be cost-free in the Union Territory. It is my humble request to all of you to get yourself vaccinated and educate others too. With active participation of youth, we will certainly win the fight against Covid-19.

Northlines Implementation of expert panel recommendations Govt notifies 200 posts as suitable for persons with benchmark disabilities Nasir Azam Srinagar, Apr 17: In a significant development, the administration of Jammu & Kashmir Union Territory has notified more than 200 posts as suitable for persons with benchmark disabilities. According to an order issued by the Social Welfare department, a copy of which is in possession of Kashmir News Observer (KNO), around 200 posts have been identified in different departments along with categories of disabled suitable for them. The move will broaden the scope of employment for persons with benchmark disabilities who are entitled for reservation in government jobs.

Northlines Each Adm Dept. to nominate Nodal Officers to counter media reports: LG Jammu Tawi, Apr 8: In a significant development, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has directed the authorities in Jammu & Kashmir Union Territory to nominate nodal officers in each administrative department for responding to media reports pertaining to their department. The General Administration Department (GAD) has directed the administrative secretaries that the LG has desired that nodal officers are nominated in each department for responding to various media reports and for furnishing factual position in respect of such issues to the directorate of Information & Public Information (DIPR) for publication through various means of media.

The first-ever sanitary pads manufacturing unit under official patronage in Jammu Kashmir Union Territory was today inaugurated at Batote in Ramban district under the Government of India’s pilot project ‘My Pad, My Right’ is indeed a step towards breaking the taboos in our orthodox society. The initiative sponsored by NABARD under the nationwide campaign ‘My Pad, My Right’, a Self Help Group (SHG), Mansarovar will start manufacturing these sanitary pads and to spread mass awareness among women about menstrual hygiene and make easy availability of these sanitary pads to protect them from cervical cancer and other gynaecological disorders.
