Kochi Metro launches public bike sharing system ANI | Updated: Mar 14, 2021 04:22 IST
Kochi (Kerala) [India], March 14 (ANI): Kochi Metro Rail Limited (KMRL) on Saturday launched the MYBYK Public Bike Sharing (PBS) system from the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium Metro Station in Kochi. As per this project, the commuters will now be able to take cycles on rent from a docking station available nearby location and travel to the nearest Metro station and then again rent a cycle from a departing metro station to the nearby localities, said a KMRL release.
It said the event also included the launch of logo and jersey for the KMRL cycling club and followed by the launch of MY BYK app.

New Delhi: In a bid to offer last-mile connectivity, Kochi Metro Rail Limited (KMRL) on Saturday launched a Public Bike Sharing (PBS) system from the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium Metro Station in Kochi. The service will assist commuters travel to the stations. The system, called the MYBYK app, will allow the users to register and start using the bicycles from the docking station.
The agency has already set up bicycle stands with parking and locking mechanisms at its metro stations.

KOCHI: To encourage cycling as part of healthy lifestyle and mobility, Kochi Metro Rail Limited in association with Cochin Smart City Mission Ltd (CSML), is organising ‘Metro Cyclothon-2021’ on Republic Day, in Kochi.
The theme of the event is ‘Healthy mobility for healthy life.’ The cyclothon will get underway from the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium Metro Station in Kaloor and will wind its way to the venue after covering approximately 12 km through the MG Road and the Metro corridor.
