EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Last Saturday, the Giants signed two veterans – linebacker Todd Davis and center Joe Looney – who played in a combined 107 NFL games in 15 seasons. Four days later, they have both retired.
Looney today informed the Giants of his decision to end his career, one day after Davis made the same choice.
Coach Joe Judge had expressed excitement about adding players with experience who could improve the team s depth. Looney, who played four years in Dallas under Jason Garrett, now the Giants offensive coordinator, said Monday, I love playing football. Football, I grew up with it, man. My family loves it. It s great to be here.
