MADISON COUNTY, Tenn. Local health officials have extended the mask mandate in Madison County.
In a release from the Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department, the mask mandate will go into effect at 12:01 a.m. on Wednesday, December 30 and will remain in place until 11:59 p.m on Sunday, January 31.
The mandate was signed by health department Regional Director Kim Tedford, Madison County Mayor Jimmy Harris and Jackson Mayor Scott Conger.

JACKSON, Tenn. The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department has confirmed another Madison County resident has died due to COVID-19 complications.
The health department says a 73-year-old woman died Dec. 28 due to complications from COVID-19. The department says 137 Madison County residents have died due to complications of the virus.
The health department also confirmed another 93 new COVID-19 cases in Madison County, bringing the total number of confirmed positive cases to 8,399.
The health department says those cases range in age from 3-years-old to 81-years-old.
There are currently 29 Madison County residents hospitalized, with three of those patients on a ventilator.

JACKSON, Tenn. The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department has confirmed another Madison County resident has died due to COVID-19 complications.
The health department says an 88-year-old woman died Dec. 18 due to complications from COVID-19. A total of 136 Madison County residents have died due to complications of the virus.
The health department also confirmed another 56 new COVID-19 cases in Madison County, bringing the total number of confirmed positive cases to 8,306.
The health department says those cases range in age from 16-years-old to 95-years-old.
There are currently 17 Madison County residents hospitalized, with five of those patients on a ventilator.
101 new COVID-19 cases confirmed in Madison County; 8,102 total

The new cases bring the total number of confirmed positive cases to 8,102.
The health department says 1,056 of those cases are currently active, and the status of an additional 553 are unknown.
There are currently 20 Madison County residents hospitalized, with seven of those patients on a ventilator.
A total of 133 Madison County residents have died due to complications from the virus.
The health department did not release additional statistics for Thursday’s update.

Health department distributes all of first COVID-19 vaccine

JACKSON, Tenn. The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department has distributed all of the department’s first shipment of the COVID-19 vaccine, according to a news release.
The health department was scheduled to receive another 900 doses on Wednesday for individuals in Phase 1A1, but that shipment was delayed, the release says.
The health department has not received an update on when that second shipment will arrive.
There are no more COVID-19 vaccines available for Phase 1A1 individuals at this time, but those individuals will be notified when the next shipment arrives, the release says.
