KNOX COUNTY, Tenn In Knox County, health leaders are keeping a close eye on some promising COVID-19 trends.
Current hospitalizations for the virus are at their lowest since late-November. Active cases have declined by nearly 50 percent since Jan. 11. The hope is that, yes, we may be getting better, said Dr. Patrick O Brien, who sits on the Knox County Board of Health. But, that still means we need to really double down and do the five core actions.

Despite varying number of lottery winners, experts say there are no lucky states

Somebody has finally won the big Powerball jackpot. So far, we know the winning ticket was sold a store in Maryland. The single ticket is worth more than $731 million.
Maryland does allow its lottery winners to remain anonymous. The state itself has only had three Powerball winners ever, including the latest one.
It s not really considered a lucky state if you compare it to places like Indiana, where they ve had 39 Powerball winners, or Missouri, where they ve had 31.
So, is there such a thing as a lucky state? Experts in math and statistics say no.

Dallas-based Ashford Hospitality Trust Inc., the firm founded by Monty Bennett that owns 103 high-end hotels, is getting a $200 million lifeline to “navigate the pandemic” while it awaits an anticipated vaccine-driven recovery in the travel industry.
The company announced Monday that it has a commitment for a three-year loan from Oaktree Capital Management, with an option to increase the amount up to $350 million. Los Angeles-based Oaktree is one of the largest credit investors in the world, with $140 billion in assets under management as of Sept. 30.
