Pakistani medical students demanded on Friday their promotion to the next academic semester immediately.
They cited rising numbers of Covid-19 cases among students and an incomplete delivery of the curriculum, questioning the fairness of exams amid the pandemic.
Students enrolled in the MBBS and BDS programmes at various colleges in Sindh, Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa objected to physical exams and called for them to be held online.

Nearly half of all healthcare workers in three major cities of the country have faced some form of violence, either physical or verbal while tackling the novel coronavirus, leading to an erosion of trust between patients and medics.
This was claimed in a study conducted by the APPNA Institute of Public Health at the Jinnah Sindh Medical University in Karachi, University of Lahore and Khyber Medical University with the support from the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). Islamabad : Over 41 per cent of healthcare workers in three cities of Pakistan faced some form of verbal and physical violence while battling the COVID-19 pandemic, according to a new study conducted by Association of Physicians of Pakistani Descent of North America (APPNA) Institute of Public Health (Jinnah Sindh Medical University, Karachi), University of Lahore and Khyber Medical University with the support of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).
The study shared with the media surveyed 356 health-care workers, including, doctors, paramedics and laboratory technicians, from 24 health-care facilities in Lahore, Karachi, and Peshawar.

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: In what appears to be worrisome statistics, over 41 percent of health-care workers in three cities of Pakistan faced some form of verbal and physical violence while battling the COVID-19 pandemic.
