San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora said on Monday that there are more than 30 community pantries in San Juan that are offering “bayanihan” (community assistance) to those who were affected by the imposition of the Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine in Metro Manila and in the nearby provinces of Laguna, Cavite, Rizal, and Bulacan due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We have about 30 community pantries all over San Juan and I’m sure that this number will be increasing per day because I see it on social media and I also see it when I go around by bike or by car,” Zamora said in an interview with CNN Philippines.

The Vaccine Information Management System Immunization Registry (VIMS-IR) will help streamline the vaccine registration process of the country and further boost the speed of the updating of records of vaccinated residents which will then be sent to the Department of Health (DOH) for real time tallying.
San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora, DICT Sec. Gringo Honasan, and Sec. Vince Dizon attended the launch of VIMS-IR at the FilOil Flying V Center, San Juan’s primary vaccination center.
“We are very happy that San Juan is the pilot city of the VIMS-IR with the ultimate goal of improving and speeding up the vaccination process. Our medical workers and volunteers were very open to sharing their points to improve the registry so that when DICT implements it all over the country, it will be user-friendly and easy to use,” Zamora said.
The San Juan City government kicked off on Monday, April 12, the inoculation of its senior citizens with Sinovac Biotech-made CoronaVac vaccines after the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) allowed its use for 60 years old and above last April 7.

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, April 3) The Department of Social Welfare and Development has already provided the list of individuals who will receive cash aid amid the new round of enhanced community quarantine in the Greater Manila area.
Under joint memorandum circular 1-2020, those from low-income households, members of the vulnerable sector, and those greatly affected by the ECQ are among the beneficiaries.
Local government units in the NCR Plus bubble are now just waiting for the release of the funds from the Department of Budget and Management.
Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte confirmed the DSWD already sent the list of beneficiaries. Once the funds have been disbursed to the LGU, they will immediately begin the rollout, she added.
