SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A cold storm system has arrived in San Diego County and will drop steady rain Wednesday, along with snow in the mountains.
Thunderstorms are also possible through Friday everywhere except desert areas, National Weather Service forecasters said.
The storm sweeping in from the northwest is expected to drop up to 1.5 inches of rain in coastal areas, up to 2 inches in the western valleys, 2.5 inches in the mountains and up to two-tenths of an inch in the deserts, according to the NWS.

An appeals court has reversed judgments from two years ago that had ordered five Learn4Life charter school locations in San Diego County to close.
Learn4Life is a statewide charter school network of 47,000 students that focuses on serving at-risk students with personalized learning that blends in-person and online instruction. Charter schools are public schools run independently of school districts.
There are 1,100 students attending the five San Diego County Learn4Life locations in question, which are part of three Learn4Life schools called Diego Valley East, Diego Hills Central and San Diego Workforce Innovation High.
Most of the students attending those schools are students of color, and several students have disabilities, are English learners, are pregnant or have children, are 18 or older, or are homeless, Learn4Life noted.
