Utilties stocks were trading in the negative zone, with the S&P BSE Utilities index falling 46.6 points or 1.96% at 2328.26 at 13:49 IST. Among the components of the S&P BSE Utilities index, Adani Transmission Ltd (down 5%), Indian Energy Exchange Ltd (down 4.99%),GAIL (India) Ltd (down 4.44%),JSW Energy Ltd (down 3.83%),Tata Power Company Ltd (down 3.75%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were NLC India Ltd (down 2.98%), Mahanagar Gas Ltd (down 2.95%), Rattanindia Power Ltd (down 2.76%), Gujarat State Petronet Ltd (down 2.71%), and Jaiprakash Power Ventures Ltd (down 2.53%). On the other hand, BF Utilities Ltd (up 5.2%), PTC India Ltd (up 4.42%), and Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (up 1.17%) moved up.
Utilties stocks were trading in green, with the S&P BSE Utilities index increasing 30.78 points or 1.3% at 2406.34 at 09:49 IST. Among the components of the S&P BSE Utilities index, NLC India Ltd (up 9.4%), Jaiprakash Power Ventures Ltd (up 6.93%),SJVN Ltd (up 3.88%),BF Utilities Ltd (up 3.84%),Rattanindia Power Ltd (up 3.74%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (up 3.07%), Torrent Power Ltd (up 2.91%), NHPC Ltd (up 2.83%), NTPC Ltd (up 2.8%), and GE T&D India Ltd (up 2.47%). On the other hand, Tata Power Company Ltd (down 1.6%), JSW Energy Ltd (down 1.24%), and Nava Bharat Ventures Ltd (down 1%) turned lower.
NLC India Ltd has added 44.05% over last one month compared to 16.84% gain in S&P BSE Utilities index and 2.22% rise in the SENSEX
NLC India Ltd gained 8.15% today to trade at Rs 69. The S&P BSE Utilities index is up 1.54% to quote at 2412.15. The index is up 16.84 % over last one month. Among the other constituents of the index, Jaiprakash Power Ventures Ltd increased 7.76% and Reliance Power Ltd added 4.95% on the day. The S&P BSE Utilities index went up 69.24 % over last one year compared to the 56.03% surge in benchmark SENSEX.
NLC India Ltd has added 44.05% over last one month compared to 16.84% gain in S&P BSE Utilities index and 2.22% rise in the SENSEX. On the BSE, 8.64 lakh shares were traded in the counter so far compared with average daily volumes of 4.23 lakh shares in the past one month. The stock hit a record high of Rs 70.75 on 12 May 2021. The stock hit a 52-week low of Rs 40.2 on 26 May 2020.
