The Ghanaian-German Centre for Jobs, Migration and Reintegration (GGC), in partnership with the Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations (MELR), has launched the hybrid edition of the Ghana Job Fair at a ceremony held in Accra.
A 100-bed modular solution donated to Cecilia Makiwane Hospital;
The modular solution will be equipped with Siemens Healthineers medical technology; The modular hospital will be powered with a solar modular configuration
to enable a decentralized and clean power supply.
At a ribbon cutting ceremony, Siemens South Africa, the German Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development and the Solidarity Fund officially handed over a separate 100-bed modular hospital solution to the Cecilia Makiwane Hospital in Mdantsane. This extension will help alleviate the negative impact caused by the coronavirus on the medical system and improve access to healthcare, even beyond the pandemic.

Eastern Cape Premier Oscar Mabuyane says the province is in the third wave of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The province has unveiled an R80m state-of-the-art 100 bed modular unit sponsored by Siemens to treat Covid-19 patients.
When the pandemic is over, the unit, will be able to provide maternity care and treat chronically ill patients.
While projections had shown that the third wave would hit the Eastern Cape in July, the Eastern Cape is already in it, Premier Oscar Mabuyane said on Friday. It s no longer a story. As we can see in our province, our [24-hour infection] numbers were low. But looking now, they have grown by 100%, he said at the unveiling of an R80 million state-of-the-art 100 bed facility for Covid-19 treatment.
Smallholder farmers in Africa are subject to many risks, some of them made worse by climate change. Well-targeted weather forecasts and crop insurance can help to limit losses and improve food security. It makes sense to link both services.
