ACI launches employment programme

AMMAN The Amman Chamber of Industry (ACI), in cooperation with the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), has launched an employment programme under the Trade for Employment (T4E) project financed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the Dutch government.
Fathi Jaghbeer, chairman of ACI and Jordan Chamber of Industry, said that the ACI welcomes cooperation with all institutions to increase the percentage of Jordanians’ employment in the industrial sector after their training in a way that contributes to addressing poverty and unemployment, according to an ACI statement.

Laos, Cambodia, Indonesia congratulate new Foreign Minister
Foreign ministers of Laos, Cambodia and Indonesia have extended congratulations to Bui Thanh Son on his appointment as Minister of Foreign Affairs.
In a phone talk with his Vietnamese counterpart on April 9, Lao Minister of Foreign Affairs Saleumxay Kommasith said he believes that Son will lead his ministry in efforts to reap more successes in foreign affairs.
Saleumxay Kommasith is the first foreign minister to make a congratulatory phone call to the Vietnamese newly-appointed minister.

Vietnamese authorities and international organisations discussed ways to reduce plastic waste and marine litter in Vietnam at a workshop held in Hanoi on Friday.

Delegates presented work between the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MONRE), the Delegation of the European Union to Việt Nam and Expertise France on policy development as well as recommendations for four pilot projects in HCM City, Hà Nội and Phú Yên Province, which aim to reduce the amount of plastic that ends up untreated on land and in the oceans.
