There have been 247,564 confirmed cases of COVID-19 across Ontario, an increase of 2,632 (or 1.1 per cent) from the previous day. Increase includes resolved data issue with Toronto Public Health with 102 cases. There are 215,887 people recovered from the virus while 5,614 people have died. The number of Ontario people tested is 9,124,841 of which 52,871 have pending results.
Canada’s coronavirus case total is 731,450. The country has 18,622 deaths from the virus – one in the Yukon, one in Nunavut, 1,119 in British Columbia, 1,500 in Alberta, 239 in Saskatchewan, 793 in Manitoba, 5,614 in Ontario, 9,273 in Quebec, 13 in New Brunswick, four in Newfoundland & Labrador and 65 in Nova Scotia.

LONG SAULT – A Lancaster long term care home is dealing with a “horrible” situation where all but seven of its residents have tested positive for COVID-19.

There have been 197,360 confirmed cases of COVID-19 across Ontario, an increase of 3,128 (or 1.6 per cent) from the previous day. There are 166,790 people recovered from the virus while 4,730 people have died. The number of Ontario people tested is 8,178,105 of which 39,805 have pending results.
Canada’s coronavirus case total is 618,646. The country has 16,233 deaths from the virus – one in the Yukon, one in Nunavut, 954 in British Columbia, 1,168 in Alberta, 165 in Saskatchewan, 695 in Manitoba, 4,730 in Ontario, 8,441 in Quebec, nine in New Brunswick, four in Newfoundland & Labrador and 65 in Nova Scotia.

“We’re seeing a slow increase across the province,” said the Eastern Ontario Health Unit medical officer of health Paul Roumeliotis.
The Eastern Ontario Health Unit statistics page updated just after 2 p.m. indicated seven new active cases of COVID-19 in the catchment area, a small increase since Thursday, compared to the double-digit increases seen every day this week. Five of those cases were reported in Cornwall. There are now 292 active cases in the region, down 10 from Thursday, and the cumulative count since mid-March is at 1,171.
