North Dakota State University Extension and University of Minnesota Extension will conduct the annual Advanced Crop Advisers Workshop as a virtual event Feb. 9-10.
“This workshop is designed to provide in-depth discussion on selected topics to help agricultural professionals enhance their crop production recommendations for farmers,” says Greg Endres, NDSU Extension cropping systems specialist at the Carrington Research Extension Center and workshop co-chair.

FARGO, N.D. (NDSU Extension) – Farming and ranching are among North Dakota’s most dangerous occupations.
North Dakota State University Extension and the University of Minnesota Extension have partnered to offer a series of one-hour farm safety webinars this winter. The webinars will be held at 11 a.m. Thursdays between Jan. 21 and March 18.
The webinar dates and topics are:
Jan. 21 – grain bin safety
Feb. 4 – tractor and equipment safety
Feb. 18 – youth farm safety
March 4 – livestock safety
March 18 – mental health
Presenters will include NDSU Extension agents and specialists, producers, emergency responders and University of Minnesota Extension educators.

As we all experienced, 2020 was a year for the history books in many ways.
Back in October of 2020, we had an unseasonably early storm. The snow blanketed the region with several inches of snow, which melted to form a layer of ice.
I recall walking like a penguin to put my work bag and other items in the car at 7 a.m. that fateful morning. My husband followed me out the door. I heard some commotion behind me and turned to see my husband flipping backward on the ice.
