Faith Phillips will fill the vacant position of Cumberland County library director beginning May 10.
Phillips, 33, is currently the manager of the Durham County Main Library. Over the past eight years, she has worked for the library systems in both Wake and Durham counties in various positions including youth services humanities coordinator, library assistant and team librarian.
Within those positions. Phillips said, she created multiple programs and projects including after-school programs, storytime programs for kids, STEM (science, technology, engineering, arts and math) activities and a round table talk, which gave youth an opportunity to talk openly about uncomfortable topics.
