Hit by train, former principal of Ispahani Girls School and College dies Star Online Graphics Star Digital Report Star Digital Report A former principal of Ispahani Girls School and College died after a train hit him in Dhaka s Karwan Bazar area this morning. The deceased was identified as Nirode Baran Roy, 60, who retired in January this year. Sub-inspector Rafiqul Islam of Dhaka Railway Police Station said the teacher was walking along the rail tracks in Karwan Bazar when the accident happened around 10:00am. A witness told police that Nirode was talking on the phone when two trains were passing by. He could see a train but could not sense another heading towards the airport from Kamalapur, the witness said.

She died on the spot. Around an hour later, Shaheen, a cook by profession, was killed after a train hit him near Joar Sahara area in Khilkhet, the ASI said.

The deceased were identified as Nur Islam (27) and Mohammad Rakib (25), both from Netrakona. Shah Jahan, a sub-inspector of Dhaka Railway Police Station said the incident took place around 12:30pm when the victims were crossing the rail tracks in Gulbagh area and two trains were passing parallel lines. One of the trains hit the duo leaving them dead on the spot. Police confirmed their identities after going through their ID cards which said they worked for the marketing department of a private company.
